From the first cave painting forward, art has always been the medium by which humans communicate their ideas. In fact, the whole concept of a "culture" could not exist without a body of art to communicate its central ideas. Today, commercial art is our primary art and companies are the primary patrons of this art. Even TV and movies are built around commercial ideas.
Art is important.
Do not, however, loose site of the fact that it is the vehicle of communication not the message. Your uniqueness is the message.
Build your website around this central focus.
- Plan your structure so it is easy to use.
- Construct your content so it flows logically.
- Use art to deliver the message in parallel to the above.
In short, do not get swept away by the vehicle and fail to drive your message home to your target audience. A beautiful website is a wonderful thing; if it does not bring home the bacon it is a failure.
The biggest complaint we received from our members was that they couldn't find anything on the [ old] BARA Website. There were limitations to the searching function and it just took too long to hunt down information. Furthermore, we simply outgrew our menu items and functionality.
Web Media Engineering offered the best vision for the BARA's Website functionality and capability, and the company's technology was more advanced than what we could find elsewhere.
But what impressed us the most was when the Web Media Engineering team came to the final selection meeting and unveiled a nearly completed, functioning Website for BARA.
